JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
GIDEONS MISSION HOSPITAL is a faith-based health institution owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru. It is located in Nakuru CBD along West Road, 200m from the State House Junction.
Our facility will be Offering evidence based consultative, comprehensive, preventive, Promotive, curative and all rounded healthcare under one roof and supported by Ultra-modern medical equipment, Outpatient Services, Inpatient Services, Maternity Services, Theatre, and HDU/ICU.
We are proud to announce the grand opening of our facility which is scheduled for late 2026.
Our Hospital is strategically situated for easy access by residents of Nakuru and surrounding areas. We will be available on all mapping platforms on the official launching date of the facility.
As we prepare to launch, we are looking for passionate, skilled and community-minded professionals to fill foundational roles. If you are a healthcare professional dedicated to excellence, we want to hear from you. We are currently accepting applications for the following vacant positions:
Medical Social Worker – 5 Positions
Reference: GM/010
Salary: Ksh 27,000–35,500
Contract: Six (6) years
Job Summary
The Medical Social Worker will provide psychosocial support to patients and their families, helping them address social, emotional, financial, and other challenges that may affect their healthcare and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' psychosocial and social-support needs.
- Provide counselling and emotional support to patients and families.
- Assist patients experiencing social, financial, family, or other challenges affecting their care.
- Develop appropriate social-care and support plans.
- Facilitate referrals to relevant community and social-support services.
- Support vulnerable patients, including children, elderly persons, and patients with special needs.
- Advocate for patients' rights, dignity, and access to appropriate care.
- Work with clinicians and other healthcare professionals as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain confidential and accurate case records.
- Participate in community outreach, health education, and psychosocial programmes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Medical Social Work, or a related field.
- Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
- Relevant experience in a healthcare or community setting is an advantage.
- Strong counselling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and culturally sensitive approach.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
