JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Medium Voltage Electrician is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of medium voltage electrical systems and equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing medium voltage electrical systems and associated equipment.
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify proper work procedures for medium voltage systems.
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on transformers, switchgear, underground cables, and distribution systems.
- Ensuring electrical systems are in compliance with applicable safety standards and codes.
- Working independently or as part of a team to support power distribution and medium voltage projects.
- Conducting inspections to identify and resolve potential electrical issues or hazards.
- Coordinating with supervisors and team members to meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Maintaining proper documentation of inspections, repairs, and system performance to ensure compliance with operational procedures and standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Successfully completed a three-year apprenticeship program in the electrician trade or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of documented practical experience in medium voltage electrical systems and trades.
- Demonstrated understanding of medium voltage equipment, electrical safety, and relevant electrical codes.
- Proficiency with electrical tools, meters, testing equipment, and repair techniques for medium voltage systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced certifications in electrical systems or power distribution are preferred.
- Experience working with medium voltage electrical systems in industrial, military, or austere environments.
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
- Valid country driver’s license and passport.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety: Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks, and serving on safety committees and teams.
