Responsibilities or duties
The Medium Voltage Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage electrical systems. This individual will lead a team of electricians to ensure operational success and compliance with safety and operational standards. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising, coordinating, and actively participating in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of medium voltage electrical systems and equipment.
- Leading a team of medium voltage electricians in performing system maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Planning and assigning daily tasks, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely project execution.
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance with wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ensuring all tasks are carried out following workplace safety guidelines, codes, and best practices related to medium voltage installations and repairs.
- Conducting regular safety briefings and ensuring the team's adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures.
- Preparing and maintaining reports and records of work progress, inspections, testing results, and maintenance schedules.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders to address technical or safety concerns.
- Providing mentorship and leadership to team members to enhance their skillsets and operational efficiency.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Successfully completed a three-year apprenticeship program in the electrician trade or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medium Voltage Electrician prior to assuming the role of a foreman.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in medium voltage electrical operations.
- Strong knowledge of medium voltage electrical systems, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with industry-standard safety procedures, regulations, and electrical codes for medium voltage systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
