Responsibilities or duties

The Medium Voltage Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage electrical systems. This individual will lead a team of electricians to ensure operational success and compliance with safety and operational standards. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising, coordinating, and actively participating in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of medium voltage electrical systems and equipment.
  • Leading a team of medium voltage electricians in performing system maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Planning and assigning daily tasks, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely project execution.
  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance with wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Ensuring all tasks are carried out following workplace safety guidelines, codes, and best practices related to medium voltage installations and repairs.
  • Conducting regular safety briefings and ensuring the team's adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining reports and records of work progress, inspections, testing results, and maintenance schedules.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders to address technical or safety concerns.
  • Providing mentorship and leadership to team members to enhance their skillsets and operational efficiency.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Successfully completed a three-year apprenticeship program in the electrician trade or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medium Voltage Electrician prior to assuming the role of a foreman.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in medium voltage electrical operations.
  • Strong knowledge of medium voltage electrical systems, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard safety procedures, regulations, and electrical codes for medium voltage systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
