Responsibilities
- Configure DHIS2 metadata, including data elements, indicators, datasets, programs, and analytics objects, and set up validation rules to ensure accurate and consistent data capture.
- Deploy and administer DHIS2 instances across multiple countries based on pilot feedback and guidance from the technical focal points, including environment setup, metadata deployment, user roles configuration, and system readiness for data capture related to IOM Migration Health activities.
- Develop, maintain and deliver DHIS2 technical training materials, including user manuals and standard operating procedures, and deliver hands‑on training on data entry, reporting, analytics, and system use for designated users.
- Provide ongoing DHIS2 system administration and technical support, build internal capacity for administrators including user management, troubleshooting, issue resolution, system monitoring, and performance optimization
- Review and understand MHD’s workflows to ensure that DHIS2 system meets user needs, coordinate with Migration Health Informatics (MHI) to technically integrate DHIS2 with Microsoft Power Platform applications, and other institutional systems using APIs, data exchange mechanisms, and standardized data models.
- Implement data quality assurance processes, including routine data quality checks, validation rule monitoring, completeness and consistency assessments, and generation of analytics outputs to support data use.
- Produce geospatial outputs, using DHIS2 GIS and external mapping tools including maps of population flows, Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), and Participatory Mobility Mapping (PMM) datasets.
- Support designing and development of digital tools and software solutions to automate clinic workflows and support electronic medical record management for medical operations.
- Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and visualization tools to support routine monitoring, Validation and reporting requirements of Migration Health programmes.
- Maintain active participation in the DHIS2 global Community of Practice and relevant professional networks; monitor current literature and emerging trends in health informatics; and evaluate the programmatic implications of new technologies and system adoption trends for project and operational activities.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in Computer science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems Technology or related fields from an accredited academic institution; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with two (2) years of relevant working experience.
- Certification and/or formal training in DHIS2, health information systems and data security is an advantage
