Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital is a not-for-profit Children’s Hospital established in 1947. Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital is the most established paediatric hospital in Eastern and Central Africa, providing healthcare to children in Kenya as well as those referred from neighbouring countries. The hospital attends to over 300,000 outpatients annually through a network of 15 facilities in and around Nairobi and admits over 9,000 patients annually at its 100-bed facility located at Muthaiga, Nairobi.

The Network Administrator is responsible for the availability, performance, capacity and integrity of Gertrude's hospitalwide network, covering local and wide area networks, internet, wireless services, and inter-site links, IP telephony, and connectivity to cloud and partner-hosted systems.

The role ensures that clinical and enterprise systems remain accessible around the clock across all facilities, implements and operates the network security controls defined with the Cyber Security team, and provides the network foundation for new clinical, biomedical and loT technologies.

The Network Administrator works closely with ICT team, clinical departments, service providers and vendors to deliver a resilient, well documented and scalable network that supports safe, high quality care delivery.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related fields.

At least 3 years' experience as a Network Administrator.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Fortinet NSE Network Security Professional) or an equivalent industry recognized networking certification.

  • Ensure the availability, performance, capacity and integrity of Gertrude's hospitalwide network, covering local and wide area networks, internet, wireless services, and inter-site links, IP telephony, and connectivity to cloud and partner-hosted systems.
  • Ensure that clinical and enterprise systems remain accessible around the clock across all facilities.
  • Implement and operate the network security controls defined with the Cyber Security team.
  • Provide the network foundation for new clinical, biomedical and loT technologies.
  • Work closely with ICT team, clinical departments, service providers and vendors to deliver a resilient, well documented and scalable network that supports safe, high quality care delivery.
