Qualifications or requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced healthcare environments.
- Commitment to ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
Experience needed
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
Responsibilities or duties
- To provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care, ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of patients while supporting the clinical team in delivering evidence-based healthcare services.
- Assess, monitor, and document patients’ physical and mental health status.
- Administer medications, injections, and other prescribed treatments accurately.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and other nursing procedures as required.
- Monitor vital signs and report significant changes to the attending physician.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health promotion, and post-treatment care.
- Support patient mobility and rehabilitation activities, including physiotherapy follow-up.
- Ensure infection prevention and control standards are strictly followed.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date nursing and patient records in accordance with professional standards.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, interns, and students where applicable.
- Participate in continuous professional development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, including resuscitation and first aid procedures.
- Participate in community health and wellness programs, outreach, and patient advocacy activities.
