    • Research Associate

      Essential Duties, Responsibilities, & Skills

      Research Planning & Implementation

      • Understand the workings of data collection which include but are not limited to conducting qualitative or quantitative data collection, which may involve focus group assessments
      • Enter and prepare data for cleaning, to include scanning paper questionnaires and verifying responses
      • Clean and analyze data using Excel and R
      • Recruit research participants; this includes mapping out locations, making phone calls, scheduling interview sessions, and logistical management of respondents
      • Schedule, organize and report on status of research activities
      • Collect qualitative or quantitative data from research participants
      • Support in the development of research materials such as questionnaires, protocols, and literature reviews
      • Respond to emails/communication relating to research projects
      • Attend regular research project meetings
      • Meet with Research Manager on a regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding quality of performance
      • Perform other related duties as required

      Educational/Training Background & Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (psychology, statistics, computer programming)
      • 2-4 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research
      • Scientific writing and publication experience
      • Meticulous
      • Computer programming/coding (R, KOBO, REDCAP)
      • Advanced MS Office
      • Passionate, willing to embrace challenges, and intellectually curious

      Biostatistician

      Essential Duties, Responsibilities, & Skills

      Data analysis and interpretation

      • Conduct statistical analysis (analyze, summarize, interpret) of quantitative data for projects using R or relevant data analysis software
      • Process data analysis outputs based on investigator instructions for publication in journals, reports, presentations
      • Write detailed analysis plans and descriptions of analyses and findings for grant applications, research protocols, or manuscripts
      • Calculation of sample size for proposed studies
      • Manage statistical aspects of projects and advise researchers on study design and analysis and project conceptualization, grant application, implementation, and analysis
      • Visualize data for reports, presentations, and manuscripts
      • Conduct data quality checks and solve issues as they arise
      • Contribute to high quality data management in alignment with best practices for human subjects research
      • Assign work and provide guidance to Research Associates related to data processing
      • Participate in the design of data collection tools
      • Work with scientific advisors to keep abreast of new statistical methods
      • In consultation with Research Manager, work within projected timelines to ensure analysis objectives are met

      Educational/Training Background & Experience

      • Masters degree in relevant field (statistics, computer programming)
      • Excellent working knowledge of R, REDCap, KOBO, MS Excel
      • 2 – 4 years of experience as a statistician in social science, health, or medical research
      • Demonstration of prior data analysis skills (i.e., published work)
      • Applied knowledge of advanced statistical models (i.e., linear mixed models)
      • Scientific writing and publication experience
      • Strong communication, team player, good interpersonal skills
      • Meticulous
      • Strong focus on quality and timely delivery of work
      • Passionate, willing to embrace challenges, and intellectually curious
