Operations Director at Camusat

Role Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Operations Director to lead and optimize our operational functions while driving business growth in Kenya’s dynamic telecommunications landscape.The Operations Director will spearhead our network and field operations, ensuring seamless service delivery, cost-effective processes, and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Country Managing Director , you will lead cross-functional teams and vendor partnerships to uphold the highest standards of performance and quality.

Job Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end network operations for mobile, fixed, and broadband services.
  • Manage field service teams, setting clear KPIs and driving accountability.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring cost optimization and ROI.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, SLAs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by the Communications Authority of Kenya.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, customer care) to launch new services/projects.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MUST be a certified project management professional
  • Minimum 10 years of telecom operations experience, with at least 5 in senior leadership roles.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of 4G/5G networks, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), and core transmission technologies.
  • Proven track record in P&L management and budget oversight.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in process optimization methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Familiarity with Kenyan telecom regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Fluency in English; Swahili proficiency is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
