Role Context
The Operations Manager plays a critical role in improving operational performance metrics such as bed occupancy, theatre utilisation, supply chain reliability, and cost-torevenue management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee hospital daily operations and service delivery across departments.
- Manage facilities, logistics, and operational infrastructure.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of hospital assets including beds, theatres, and medical equipment.
- Lead supply chain management including procurement, inventory control, and vendor relationships.
- Monitor operational KPIs including occupancy rates, service efficiency, and turnaround times.
- Implement operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and operational policies.
- Coordinate closely with clinical, finance, and HR departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Key Success Factors
- Operational Efficiency & Resource Optimisation: Maintain overall operational efficiency and optimise resource utilisation across the hospital.
- Bed and Theatre Utilisation: Achieve an average bed occupancy rate of ≥65% and theatre utilisation of ≥60% during operating hours.
- Equipment & Infrastructure Uptime: Ensure hospital equipment and operational infrastructure maintain ≥95% uptime to support uninterrupted clinical services.
- Cost & Budget Management: Keep operational cost-to-revenue variance within 3% of the approved budget.
