Optometrist to provide comprehensive primary eye care services including eye examinations, refraction, diagnosis of common eye conditions, and prescription of corrective lenses.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and refraction.
  • Diagnose refractive errors and common eye conditions. .
  • Prescribe and dispense spectacles, contact lenses, and low vision aids. .
  • Detect eye diseases and refer complex cases to ophthalmologists. .
  • Counsel patients on eye health and proper eyewear use.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in community outreach programs.
  • Adhere to the regulations, guidelines, and standards set by the Kenya Optometric Association & the Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Council

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

  • Diploma or Degree in Optometry from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license from Optometrists Association of Kenya.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience (preferred).
  • Strong clinical, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
