Responsibilities or duties

Is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and supply of medications while ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards. Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or independently (where permitted), they manage prescriptions, provide patient counseling on medication use, maintain inventory, and support safe and efficient pharmacy operations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
  • Registered and with a valid license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
  • Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Experience needed

  • At least one (1) year post-internship working experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Preparation, dispensing, and supply of medications
  • Ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards
  • Managing prescriptions
  • Providing patient counseling on medication use
  • Maintaining inventory
  • Supporting safe and efficient pharmacy operations
  • Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems)
  • Good communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
