JOB SUMMARY
To qualify for appointment to teach short courses, a candidate must have the following requirements:An earned B2 Proficiency Level certificate or degree in the relevant language:German: Goethe-ZertifikatItalian: CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana)French: DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française)English: Bachelor’s degree in LinguisticsKiswahili: Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics2. Have at least two (2) years of teaching experience in a similar institution, preferably teaching up to B2 level.3. Experience with CEFR-aligned curricula and communicative teaching methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, prepare and teach the units assigned, as outlined in the course outline in line with the course curriculum.Development of learning materials, timely preparation and submission of professional records and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.Plan, develop and deliver appropriate learning plans for individual students.Assess students work and monitor their achievementTake part in the Course review process and adapt delivery patterns to meet student needsExamining and marking of Trainees’ Assessment Tests (C.A.Ts and end of term assessments) and timely uploading of marks in the MIS of the units assignedCarry out Practical instructions for trainees and maintaining their portfolios of evidenceSupervising students during assessmentsContributing to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculumParticipation in departmental meetingsOther duties as may be assigned to you by your supervisor
