This role is within the Partnerships and Governance Unit, which plays a crucial role in engaging with governments and development partners to secure funding and support for WFP's operations. The Partnerships Officer will be responsible for strengthening WFP's engagement with national governments and contributing to the development of innovative financing mechanisms.
Responsibilities:
The Partnerships Officer will be responsible for a range of duties including:
- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance engagement with government counterparts.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for development finance and resource mobilization.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key government officials and stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development of proposals and concept notes for funding.
- Monitoring and reporting on partnership activities and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:
- A Master's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in partnership management, government relations, or development finance.
- Proven experience in resource mobilization and fundraising.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
This is a fixed-term position based in Nairobi, Kenya.
