PASTRY CHEF

Job Summary

The Pastry Chef will prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked products while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, presentation, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other bakery products.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes.
• Develop and improve pastry and dessert recipes where required.
• Ensure attractive and consistent presentation of products.
• Monitor oven temperatures and baking times.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and freshness.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
• Minimise wastage and manage ingredients efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organised pastry section.
• Follow food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ingredient requirements.
• Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to meet customer demand.

Ideal Candidate

• Culinary or pastry/bakery training is an advantage.
• Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker.
• Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.
• Creative approach to presentation and product development.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Level of Education: bachelor degree
