JOB VACANCY

We are seeking Two dedicated Pest and Disease Scouts to join our Gilgil farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring crops for pests and diseases, ensuring early detection, and supporting the farm's integrated pest management (IPM) program to maintain healthy and high-quality flowers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct regular field scouting of flowers including Delphiniums, Hydrangeas, limoniums and sinensis.

2. Identify and record pests, diseases, and any abnormalities in crops.

3. Report on findings accurately to the Scout Supervisor.

4. Assist in implementing IPM strategies and recommend corrective measures.

5. Maintain detailed records and data for analysis and reporting.

6. Support farm staff in pest and disease prevention techniques.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS

i. Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Protection, or related field.

ii. Previous experience in a horticultural or flower farm environment is preferred.

iii. Knowledge of common flower pests and diseases.

iv. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

v. Good observation, reporting, and communication skills.

vi. Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
