Job Purpose:

To support the pharmacist in the efficient and safe dispensing of medications, providing accurate drug information, and managing pharmacy inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and interpret prescriptions, dispensing medications accurately under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Counsel patients on the correct use, dosage, and potential side effects of their medications.
  • Compound and prepare medications as required.
  • Manage pharmacy stock, including receiving, storing, and rotating stock to prevent expiry.
  • Maintain proper records of all transactions, including controlled drugs.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and complies with all regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.

Licensing: Must be registered and hold a valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.

Key Competencies:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and patient counseling skills.
  • Integrity and ability to handle controlled substances responsibly.
  • Good inventory management skills.
