Background information about the job or company

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Physician to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.

Responsibilities or duties

Provide comprehensive medical care, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions at the BOSC Clinic.

Perform physical examinations, evaluate medical histories, and order appropriate diagnostic tests including laboratory work and imaging.

Develop and implement patient care plans, combining medical care, health education, and prevention strategies.

Prescribe and manage medications and therapies in compliance with applicable medical guidelines and regulations.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and ancillary staff, to deliver the highest standard of medical care.

Respond to medical emergencies, provide advanced life support, trauma stabilization, and other critical care interventions as required.

Provide health education and counseling to patients, focusing on disease prevention and wellness promotion.

Ensure accurate, thorough, and confidential medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems, meeting all healthcare compliance requirements.

Participate in the planning, review, and improvement of clinical operations and processes.

Stay updated on the latest developments in medical protocols, guidelines, and practices, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based care.

Qualifications or requirements

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.

Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.

Valid and unrestricted medical license in accordance with U.S. standards.

3-5 years of experience as a practicing physician, preferably in a primary care, emergency medicine, or clinic-based setting.

Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is a plus.

Proficiency in managing acute care, chronic disease, and preventive health services.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English for both verbal and written communication.

Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.

Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.

Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.

Valid country driver’s license and passport.

Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

Experience in military or government healthcare programs, or familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) medical protocols.

Advanced training in trauma care or emergency response situations.

Skilled in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate and compliant documentation.

Competence in occupational health or public health program implementation.

Experience providing care in resource-limited settings and handling a wide range of medical issues independently.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
