Job Purpose Statement
Oversee player health, medical support, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and medical compliance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct medical screening & assessments pre-competition and during camps
- Monitor health and fitness levels
- Provide medical clearance for participation
- Develop injury prevention programs
- Design rehabilitation plans for injured players
- Collaborate with strength & conditioning staff on workload management
- Provide medical support during training, friendly matches, official competitions
- Maintain readiness of medical kits, supplies, equipment
- Provide emergency care when needed
- Keep confidential medical records
- Ensure compliance with CAF/FIFA medical and anti-doping rules
- Collaborate on welfare with Head Coach, Safeguarding Officer, etc.
- Prepare medical reports for Federation, CAF/FIFA
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Medicine or Physiotherapy
- Licensed practitioner with sports medicine experience
- At least 5 years’ experience working with teams
