Job Description

To deliver high-quality, patient-centered physiotherapy services through comprehensive assessment and effective treatment, promoting safe rehabilitation, functional independence, and optimal patient outcomes, while contributing effectively to multidisciplinary clinical care and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and develop individualized physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Provide physiotherapy care for musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical conditions (inpatient and outpatient).
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records, including assessment notes, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Monitor patient progress, update treatment plans, and maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility, posture, and injury prevention.
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Recommend and demonstrate the use of assistive devices and rehabilitation equipment.
  • Participate in departmental planning, clinical audits, and hospital quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain physiotherapy equipment and comply with hospital policies, patient safety, and infection control standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training to maintain professional competency.

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and commitment to patient centered care.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
  • Registered and licensed by the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya with a valid practising licence.
  • At least two (2) years' relevant experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience in orthopaedic, neurological, or paediatric physiotherapy will be an added advantage.
