The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) was established by the Government of Kenya on the 14th of January 2013 under an Act of Parliament-Act No.4 of 2013, to provide research based curricula and curriculum support materials responsive to the needs of the society.
Responsibilities or duties
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Undertaking special audit investigations; preparing audit operational plans; leading audit teams in implementing audit work plans;
- Implementing audit fieldwork strategy;
- Carrying out risk assessment and develop management guidelines;
- Carrying out audit follow-ups on implementation of recommendations; preparing audit reports; and
- Interpretation of financial control and management resolution of the Institute.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting option); Commerce (Finance option); Business Administration (Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or Part III of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Be a Certified Information System Auditor (C.I.S.A);
- Be Registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK);
- Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Computer literacy;
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Experience needed
- At least 8 years’ relevant experience and 3 years in a supervisory role;
- Undertaking special audit investigations; preparing audit operational plans; leading audit teams in implementing audit work plans;
- Implementing audit fieldwork strategy;
- Carrying out risk assessment and develop management guidelines;
- Carrying out audit follow-ups on implementation of recommendations; preparing audit reports; and
- Interpretation of financial control and management resolution of the Institute.
