Background
Our client is a licensed and reputable bancassurance company operating within the financial services sector. The organization provides a wide range of insurance solutions and is seeking to recruit a qualified Principle Officer to oversee its operations, regulatory compliance, business performance, and stakeholder management functions.
The job holder will be responsible for the overall Bancassurance Business Development and Operations and will be expected to provide strategic direction to maximise both captive and non-captive growth opportunities for Caritas Bancassurance Intermediary Limited.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an overall Business Plan covering all insurance activities across the bank
- Product Development: Actively guide product needs identification for all customer segments to fill gaps in product and service offerings.
- Strategic Planning: Formulate the overall strategy for the Bank’s Bancassurance proposition and proactively manage the Intermediary’s business plan. Lead and manage planning of annual business targets and achievement of Bancassurance profitability.
- Stakeholder Management: Ensure collaborative strategic relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Active management of relationships with all insurance partners to ensure delivery of services
- Monitor market activities to keep abreast with emerging trends, opportunities and competition in the bank and insurance industry
- Monthly reporting of Bancassurance financials including, but not limited to, commission reconciliation, financial projections, P&L monitoring etc.
- Monitor adherence to the laid down policies and procedures as per bank policies and IRA regulations
- Responsible for all reporting to Insurance Regulatory Authority and Central bank of Kenya.
- Entrench measurable and meaningful customer service standards and practices
- Drive growth in Bancassurance business across and outside the bank channels.
- Prospect and market various insurance products to prospective clients and advice customers on the adequacy of cover requested for in relation to the policies available.
- Oversee the operational aspects of Bancassurance business at the branch i.e. underwriting, claims, finance and customer service as well as preparation of quotations, negotiating terms for customers and closing sales.
- Ensure all collaterals and assets that the Bank interest is properly and comprehensively insured and the Bank’s interest properly noted.
- Ensure that the Bank, customers and staff insurable assets insured under the branch are renewed on time and that the premium is paid up.
- Ensure that all queries on technical insurance issues from customers and branch staff are addressed promptly while providing technical guidance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures in relation to Bancassurance business.
- Champion insurance training and sensitization of staff and customers on insurance products.
- Ensure timely submission of claim documents and continuously update clients whose claims are being processed on progress of their claims.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Undergraduate degree – in a business-related field
- AIIK Diploma/CII Diploma and banking profession certification is preferred.
- A Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position in the Insurance Marketing environment or in a similar position.
- Very good knowledge of IRA guidelines and CBK prudential guidelines and reporting.
- Excellent Communication, Presentation, Sales and Client relationship skills.
