Job Summary

Danco Capital Ltd. is a leading and fast-growing manufacturer offering quality and sustainable water, sanitation and telecom solutions with a regional presence in Africa. We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and aggressive Procurement Assistant to oversee the procurement process, ensuring the organization obtains quality goods and services at the best value.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing sourcing, negotiating and managing the acquisition of goods and services to ensure value for money, compliance, and smooth organizational operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the sourcing for Quotes and information as per the needs of the company and as per the user specifications.
  • Assist in drafting appropriate service level agreements to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers and report this on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with vendors and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards while escalating in case of any non-conformity noted.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and renegotiate prices on a regular basis including supplier payments follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, vendor information and price templates for all commodities for the business.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
  • Replenishment of stock level in collaboration with the sales and inventory team.
  • Assist in research to get intelligence of products prices, changes and reason.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to align procurement policies and strategies with business needs.
  • Conduct an evaluation of the quotes received considering prices offered, lead time, terms offered and supplier relationship and submitting for approvals before processing the PO.
  • Process PO, seek approvals and send them to the suppliers while ensuring timely delivery of the goods and services.
  • Conduct Supplier audits as and when required as per the guidance for the management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • I. Possess a Diploma or degree in Supply Chain/Procurement.
  • ii. At least 2-3 years of progressive work experience as a Procurement Assistant in a busy trading or manufacturing industry.
  • Assist in the sourcing for Quotes and information as per the needs of the company and as per the user specifications.
  • Assist in drafting appropriate service level agreements to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers and report this on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with vendors and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards while escalating in case of any non-conformity noted.
