The Procurement Officer is responsible for streamlining the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role involves supplier negotiations, inventory management, and adherence to company policies and regulations, while supporting departmental procurement needs and maintaining accurate records.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (relevant experience may be substituted for a degree).
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management support roles.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and procurement software
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and within a team. Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Key Competencies
- Sourcing and evaluating suppliers for reliability, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Negotiating contracts, terms, and prices to optimize procurement outcomes.
- Maintaining compliance with procurement policies and legal standards.
- Managing inventory levels and forecasting procurement needs.
- Developing strong vendor relationships and conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Resolving supplier conflicts and ensuring smooth communication.
- Preparing detailed procurement reports with key metrics and performance indicators. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing efficiency strategies.
- Supporting administrative procurement tasks and implementing best practices. Staying updated on industry trends and continuously improving procurement processes.
