JOB DETAILS:

Westlands Specialist Hospital is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Procurement Officer to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and hospital consumables.
• Develop, review, and update procurement plans aligned with hospital needs.
• Ensure procurement processes adhere to the Public Procurement & Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), hospital policies, and other relevant laws.
• Vet and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Monitor stock levels in collaboration with stores and pharmacy to prevent shortages.
• Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate procurement records for audit and compliance.
• Support budget planning by providing accurate procurement cost forecasts.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to support uninterrupted patient care.
• Identify risks in the procurement process and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure transparency, cost-effectiveness, and value-for-money in all hospital purchases.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional qualification (CIPS) / KISM is highly desirable.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in a hospital/healthcare or PPADA environment.
• Strong knowledge of PPADA (Kenya) and procurement compliance standards.
• Experience with ERP procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure.
