Background
Our client, a premier provider of cutting-edge power systems, HVAC, and infrastructure solutions across Africa, based in Nairobi, is seeking to fill the role of a Procurement Specialist to support strategic sourcing and strengthen supply chain performance within the power and energy sector.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, and negotiations
- Manage contracts and monitor supplier performance
- Ensure timely procurement of power equipment, including LV panels and related materials
- Drive cost optimization and value improvement initiatives
- Enforce procurement compliance and governance standards
- Prepare procurement reports and KPIs
- Coordinate importation processes including supplier follow-ups, shipping, and clearance
- Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure proper inventory management and stock control
- Provide team leadership and mentorship
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- Professional certification (CIPS/KISM) preferred
- 3–4 years’ procurement experience
- Mandatory experience in the energy/power sector
- Hands-on experience with LV panels and electrical equipment procurement
- Mandatory proven experience in importation processes (international sourcing, logistics, customs clearance)
- Warehouse management experience (inventory control, stock management, material handling)
- Proven team leadership experience
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
