Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Contract Management, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, or any other relevant field.
• 8+ years’ work experience in a similar capacity in the Real Estate, Hospitality, and/or FMCG sectors, with a high volume of transactions.
• Advanced Diploma in Purchasing & Supply (CIPS Level 5).
• Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
• Knowledge and experience in demand and supply systems and best procurement practices.
• Good financial acumen.
• Self-driven with a good business sense.
• Thorough and very attentive to detail.
• Creative and proactive approach towards challenges.
• Good negotiations skills.
• Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels with internal and external customers.
• Customer-centric and proactively keeps customers and suppliers updated on progress or requests.
• Independent, resourceful, and possess a high drive to excel

Job Role
Purpose of the Job

You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy and operations in order to maximize efficiency and productivity. In addition, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with our vendors and distributors.

Key result Areas/Key Responsibility Areas
• Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
• Work with the Chief Development Officer, to put in place a detailed procurement strategy and plan for each project.
• Work with the Customer Experience Director, to put in place a detailed procurement strategy and plan for all new and operating residences.
• Work with the DREIT manager and the CDO to prepare a cash flow plan for each project.
• Work with CDO to arrange the purchase, shipping, clearing, and delivery of imported goods.
• Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
• Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the properties.
• Maintain the required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
• Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase the efficiency of the supply chain function and profitability for the company.
• Develop and implement policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes.
• Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to project delivery timelines.
• Assess the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
• Negotiate prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
• Participates as an advisory member of the development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
• Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and contract all project suppliers including Consultants, Construction Managers, Contractors, subcontractors, and Suppliers to ensure the benefits of economies of scale are realized, warranties are enforceable and valuable and the long-term life cycle costs are minimized.
• Check with respective internal consumers that goods and services delivered meet the agreed standards and specifications.
