Role overview
As a Program Officer for Digital Skilling Programs, you'll drive the day-to-day delivery of donor-funded initiatives that equip learners across Kenya with in-demand digital skills. This is a mission-critical role where your coordination, monitoring, and reporting will ensure programs run smoothly, meet donor expectations, and create measurable impact for the communities they serve. Based in Nairobi with travel to program sites, you'll be the operational backbone connecting partners, learners, and funders.
What you'll do
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of digital skilling programs, managing learner and cohort progress through the LMS and program databases.
- Track budgets and program spending, ensuring accurate financial records and timely donor and sponsor reporting.
- Lead monitoring and evaluation activities using dashboards, data trackers, and surveys to measure outcomes and inform program improvements.
- Coordinate with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to align on objectives, resolve issues, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Maintain rigorous compliance and documentation standards, upholding safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
- Travel to program sites to support implementation, verify data quality, and engage directly with learners and delivery partners.
What we're looking for
- 3-6 years of experience managing donor-funded programs, ideally in education, digital skilling, or development contexts.
- A Bachelor's degree in project management, development studies, education, business administration, social sciences, IT, public policy, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting and financial tracking, as well as donor and sponsor reporting.
- Strong monitoring and evaluation skills, with hands-on use of LMS platforms, dashboards, data trackers, and surveys.
- Proven ability to coordinate partners and stakeholders and manage learner and cohort operations at scale.
- A firm commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection standards, with the ability to travel to program sites.
Nice to have
- Professional certification in project management, M&E, grants management, or data analysis.
- Experience managing compliance and documentation within multi-partner, donor-funded environments.
