JOB DETAILS:
Task description
Under the direct supervision of EVAW G Team Leader, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Provide technical support in development of programme strategies in EVAW and HIV in Kenya.
• Provide substantive inputs to the design and formulation of programme/ project proposals and initiatives.
• Support in tracking all follow-ups required on resource mobilizations and partnership opportunities
• Support in translation of priorities of the Strategic Note into programme interventions on EVAW & HIV
• Identify areas for support and interventions related to the EVAW programme
• Provide administrative support to Local Project Appraisal Committee (LPAC) meetings, preparation and review of required documents and follow-ups with programme teams for timely disbursements to partners
• Provide technical support to the implementation and management of EVAW Programme.
• Provide technical and administrative support in the preparation of AWPs, programme work plans, budgets, and proposals on programme implementation arrangements, including tracking the delivery of funds.
• Support in the implementation of programme activities on EVAW and HIV specifically.
• Support the coordination of the request for proposals, evaluations, organization of technical review committees, and capacity assessment of partners.
• Review, feedback and monitor the submission of implementing partners’ financial and narrative reports
• Provide technical assistance and capacity development to EVAW programme partners.
• Provide technical support in developing and strengthening projects/ programmes in HIV
• Maintain relationships with national partners implementing EVAW- HIV programme.
• Participate in capacity assessment to identify capacity building needs of stakeholders and partners.
• Provide technical inputs to the monitoring, learning and reporting of the EVAW pro-gramme.
• Regularly monitor progress of implementation of activities including conducting field visits
• Develop reports on monitoring missions, programme results, outputs and outcomes.
• Prepare and give substantive inputs to the donor and UN Women reports on EVAW
• Support track donor reporting deadlines, AWP, procurement plans, mid-term and annual reviews
• Provide administrative support to the organization of training for the office staff and partners on programme and operations related issues.
• Provide technical support to inter-agency in respect of HIV
• Provide technical support through drafting of background reports and briefs for the Unit.
• Represent UN Women in inter-agency coordination specifically the UBRAF co-sponsors related activities, meetings and events
• Support track GEWE related international celebrations to alert communications and coordination colleagues ahead of time
• Provide substantive inputs to on knowledge building and communication
• Identify sources, gather and compile data and information for the preparation of documents, guidelines, speeches and position papers, in collaboration with the Programme team.
• Organize and coordinate campaigns, events, trainings, workshops, and knowledge products.
• Identify best practices and lessons learned to guide programme improvement and strategy planning.
• Provide administrative support to the financial management of the EVAW Programme Unit
• Create projects in Atlas, prepare budget revisions, revise project awards and status; and determine unutilized funds and the operational and financial close of a project.
• Provide administrative support in monitoring and preparation of budget and the finances of programmes/projects, and in the preparation of FACE forms.
• Prepare non-PO vouchers for development projects.
• Process payment for consultants, as delegated.
• Create requisitions in Atlas for development projects; register good receipts in Atlas.
• Review to ensure all documents submitted for approval (SSAs, procurement, Tas, agreements etc) are in line with agreed checklists

Required experience
• 5 years of experience in programme management/ support.
• Substantive knowledge of GBV and HIV programming, prior experience supporting such programs desirable
• Experience in working in a computer environment using multiple office software packages.
• Previous experience with the UN is an asset. · Experience in supporting a team and in the use of ATLAS is an asset.
• Experience in liaising with government agencies and or donors is an asset
