Job Summary

The Programme Development and Partnerships Lead is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Society's strategic programmes, projects, partnerships, and resource mobilization initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the role supports the successful delivery of PSK's strategic priorities while strengthening organizational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, planning, and implementation of strategic programmes and projects aligned with the Society's Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinate the identification, development, and submission of grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.
  • Coordinate implementation of donor-funded programmes and ensure compliance with grant agreements, work plans, budgets, timelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and close-out activities.
  • Coordinate implementation and monitoring of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and partnership agreements.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with development partners, government agencies, academia, regulatory bodies, professional associations, private sector organizations, and international partners.
  • Coordinate programme budgets, procurement requirements, timelines, and risk management activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, donor reports, concept papers, briefing notes, and programme documentation.
  • Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, learning, and impact measurement activities.
  • Lead resource mobilization initiatives through grants, sponsorships, partnerships, and collaborative projects.
  • Coordinate training programmes, workshops, technical working groups, and partner engagements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary programme teams, consultants, and implementing partners.
  • Monitor programme performance and prepare periodic implementation reports.
  • Identify emerging programme opportunities, funding mechanisms, and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain centralized programme management systems for all Society projects, grants, and partnerships.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Experience in grant management and donor compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) competencies.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Financial and budget monitoring skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High professionalism, emotional intelligence, and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BPharm), PharmD, MPharm, or equivalent qualification recognized in Kenya.
  • Postgraduate qualification or certification in Project Management, Public Health, Business Administration, Grant Management, Resource Mobilization, Strategic Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in programme management, project management, grant management, or partnership development.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary programmes or institutional initiatives.
  • Experience in proposal development, donor reporting, and partnership coordination.
  • Experience in programme planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Membership in good standing with the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya.
  • Valid Pharmacy and Poisons Board Practising Licence.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience working within healthcare organizations, professional associations, NGOs, development partners, or multilateral institutions.
  • Demonstrated success in grant acquisition and resource mobilization.
  • Experience coordinating programmes involving government, academia, or international organizations.
  • Experience implementing and monitoring partnership agreements and MoUs.
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Commitment to advancing the pharmacy profession through innovation and collaboration.

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Contract Duration

  • Three (3) years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and organizational needs.
