Job Description:

The Programme Officer – School Meals supports the Technical Director in the coordination, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and resource mobilization of the Global School Meals Programme. The role contributes to effective stakeholder engagement, resource development, and knowledge management to strengthen programme delivery, portfolio diversification, and visibility.

They will lead the design, operationalization, and management of information systems, reporting, and documentation for the School Meals Programme. This role involves developing monthly dashboards, quarterly reports, and annual publications, as well as managing the online information platform and ensuring high-quality documentation for advocacy and communication purposes.

The Key Job Responsibilities:

Lead in the design and operationalisation of information management, reporting, and documentation for School Meals

  • Lead the development of monthly dashboards and quarterly reports in coordination with the information management team
  • Participate in the development of key publications, case studies and capacity statements for school meals in coordination with technical, advocacy and communication teams.
  • Lead the development of the school meals annual report.
  • Manage school meals channels and file all necessary materials
  • Manage the School Meals online information management platform

Lead learning and evidence-building for School Meals

  • Organise best practices and learning platforms/meetings that bring together technical leads and the field offices around specific themes on school meals
  • Follow up with FOs on implementation of lessons learnt from evaluations and learning forums
  • Participate in research opportunities around School meals and disseminate research findings internally and externally.

Support programme development and implementation of School Meals Programme

  • Develop innovative engagement products on school meals
  • Facilitate donor engagement for school meals programming
  • Provide guidance to SOs on the use of Private Non-Sponsorship funding to implement school meals programmes
  • Connect field offices with the required technical staff for support in proposal development
  • Track implementation of the School Meals plan and other actions emerging from internal and external meetings using tools such as activity logs
  • Disseminate school meals guidelines and monitor implementation.

Support in convening and participate in key meetings

  • Support in convening external and internal School Meals meetings
  • Support preparations of presentations for school meals-related meetings
  • Attend any other meetings as required (donors, RHEADS, technical staff, field offices, etc.)
  • Track implementation of the School Meals plan and other actions emerging from internal and external meetings using tools such as activity logs
  • Meeting recordings and action plans in place.

Required Education, Professional Experiences, Skills and Knowledge;

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to community development work, preferably in fields such as sociology, international or political studies, humanitarian law, public health, population studies and others.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian industry and international development sector
  • Minimum five years’ experience working in relevant field (programme development, report writing, academic research, international non-governmental work)
  • Experience in working for not-for-profit organizations and the public sector
  • Experience working with several public and private donors
  • Experience in developing concepts, proposals and writing reports
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
  • Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency and productivity.
