Project Coordinator - Natural History Unit

The Natural History Unit is the world leader in natural history programming and includes outstanding landmarks e.g. Frozen Planet II, and Impact campaigns such as #OurGreenPlanet and the upcoming #OurFrozenPlanet.
We are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to coordinate and deliver digital content & campaign activities within the BBC Studios Natural History Unit Impact & Partnerships team; including resources, communications, stakeholders, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Role Responsibility
Administration and organisation
• Act as a workstream manager or an assistant project manager on content workstreams / projects, taking responsibility for predefined tasks.
• Create reference documentation used to manage the project and support preparation of relevant documentation (including project delivery matrix and content toolkits)
• Organise and minute meetings; chase progress on actions across numerous team members.
• Support high-quality communication with internal and external stakeholders, helping them to access information efficiently.
• Manage purchase orders, invoices and assist with scheduling & procurement activities.

Communications and stakeholder engagement
• Maintain a campaign delivery plan, organise communications activities and assist the team in delivering communications, including assessing impact and value to internal and external partners.
• Assist the impact & partnerships producer to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and arrange stakeholder reporting & ongoing communications,
• Act as a central point of contact and ensure smooth running of the project at all times.
• Compile ad hoc reports and presentations for stakeholders as required.
Project controls
• Maintain and update relevant plans which may include project and resource plans.
• Assist the producers by working with the team to identify progress updates and report on project health, including monitoring budget information.
• Understand and consider business compliance and editorial policy issues (e.g. BBC safeguarding impartiality & delivering quality).

Essential Skills
• Time management and organisational skills with demonstrable experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines and managing a high workload with conflicting priorities.
• Approachable manner with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment.
• Strong communication skills (spoken, written and listening) with the ability to present information accurately and concisely.
• Able to produce professional presentations.
• Attention to detail and able to ensure documents are consistent in language, terminology and style.
• Strong understanding of evolving social media landscape.
• The ability to translate project/programme/change requirements into clear, understandable language.
• An appreciation of the core project management concepts and processes.
• Experience and understanding of effective commercial reporting and management information.
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative or as part of a team to turn ideas and strategy into tangible outcomes and processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
• Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) skills.

Desirable Skills
• A recognised project management qualification or demonstrable career development activities.
• Has supported a minimum of two projects with a budget of £100k+.
• Understands data analysis and has experience in manipulating data to make it meaningful for different audiences.
• Knowledge of the natural history media sector and environmental conservation a plus.
• Knowledge of the influencer landscape a plus
