Background
A growing Kenyan digital agribusiness and technical services firm is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and compliance-driven Project Operations Coordinator. This role forms the operational backbone of our partnerships. Reporting directly to the Commercial and Delivery Lead, the coordinator will manage day-to-day administrative frameworks, donor compliance requirements, work planning, and reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in keeping multi-stakeholder projects moving smoothly, ensuring full adherence to structured government and institutional guidelines while supporting a fast-paced field operations network.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Reporting: Lead the day-to-day operational execution of NAVCDP/FSRP project activities. Consolidate updates from field teams to draft high-quality progress reports, budgets, and operational work plans.
Compliance & Administration: Act as the primary custodian of administrative compliance, ensuring all project documentation, physical hub records, and procurement protocols strictly align with institutional and donor requirements.
Stakeholder & County Liaison: Maintain routine follow-ups with county-level stakeholders, government representatives, and cooperatives to unblock operational delays and ensure timely data collection.
Operational Support: Work hand-in-hand with County Business Managers to provide administrative, tracking and logistical support for local onboarding, training, and platform deployment activities.
Monitoring & Documentation: Oversee project monitoring schedules, log risks, and maintain meticulously organized digital and physical project registries.
Requirements, Qualifications, and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related social/economic science field. (A professional certification in Project Management like PMP, PRINCE2, or PMD Pro is an added advantage).
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of active experience in project coordination, project operations or administrative management.
Donor & Public Sector Familiarity: Proven track record working with government-led projects, Ministry initiatives, or donor-funded programs.
Systems & Reporting Skill: Exceptional skills in designing work plans (Gantt charts), managing budgets, and drafting technical project reports for institutional stakeholders.
Sector Knowledge: Basic familiarity with digital agriculture platforms, inclusive rural finance, or agricultural value chains in Kenya is a distinct advantage.
Core Competencies
Meticulous Organization: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage complex timelines, heavy documentation and rigid compliance frameworks simultaneously.
Proactive Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to handle routine government, development-sector and private-sector partner follow-ups cleanly.
Problem-Solving Skills: Resourceful and self-driven; capable of running routine project mechanics independently without needing constant supervision.
Team Collaboration: Ability to seamlessly bridge communication between the high-level corporate office in Nairobi and the execution teams out in the counties.
