About us
At Tana, we believe that your skills and your character define you, not where in the world you were born. We empower brilliant young people in Africa to start meaningful careers by training them for tech and data roles, and embedding them into full-time, remote positions with companies across North America and Europe. We're a rapidly growing start-up headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, with a vision to change the world of work.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Quality & Compliance Coordinator to support the quality and information security management systems of a global laboratory informatics software company. Its software helps laboratories manage workflows, samples and data while supporting regulatory compliance.
You will coordinate audit preparation, maintain accurate documentation, track training and corrective actions, and support supplier evaluations and process improvements. This role suits someone who is organised, meticulous and comfortable working independently while collaborating with colleagues across different teams.
Responsibilities
- Schedule meetings, prepare reports and maintain management system documentation, audit schedules and corrective and preventive action schedules.
- Support internal, external and customer-requested audits by organising evidence, preparing agendas, coordinating participants and taking notes.
- Prepare training records and metrics for audits supporting ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and relevant HIPAA/GDPR requirements.
- Help address audit findings and corrective actions, including identifying how issues will be resolved and what resources are needed.
- Support quality processes through documentation reviews, process monitoring and collaboration with other teams.
- Track staff training completion and create training modules as needed.
- Review, evaluate and approve suppliers using established procedures, maintain the approved supplier list and conduct scheduled reevaluations.
- Gather and analyse quality-related data for audits, management reviews and continual improvement.
- Identify trends and improvement opportunities, and help drive improvement projects to completion.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in quality management, information security, auditing or a related field.
- Experience working with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Experience using MS Office for reporting, tracking and document versioning.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and engage colleagues without prompting.
- Strong attention to detail, including accurate record-keeping, reviewing your work and seeking clarification when needed.
- Strong organisational skills and reliability in managing multiple tasks, documents and projects through to completion.
- A friendly, helpful approach to working with colleagues, customers and teams across different functions.
- Ability to identify issues and contribute to practical solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience working with ISO 27001:2022.
- Professional certifications such as ASQ CQA, CQIA or CQE, or ISO 9001/27001 Lead/Internal Auditor qualifications.
- Experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, Zendesk or Jira.
- A data protection background, including Kenya's Data Protection Act or GDPR awareness.
- Experience reviewing, evaluating or approving suppliers.
- Experience designing, delivering or tracking staff training.
Location: Remote (based in Kenya)
Working Hours: 1:00 PM–10:00 PM EAT, with flexibility to shift to later hours during audits. These include customer audits, internal audits and ISO certification audits.
Contracting: If selected, you will be hired by Tana and embedded full-time with the client.
