JOB DETAILS:

Position: Receiving Clerk
Industry: Retail / Supermarket

Job Summary:
The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for receiving incoming goods, checking deliveries against documentation, inspecting products, and maintaining accurate records of stock received.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive deliveries from suppliers and transporters.
• Verify quantities against delivery notes, purchase orders, or invoices.
• Inspect goods for quality, damage, expiry dates, and correct specifications.
• Record all received goods accurately in the relevant system or documentation.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, shortages, or excess deliveries.
• Ensure goods are properly labelled and transferred to the appropriate storage or sales areas.
• Maintain organized receiving and storage areas.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of receiving records.
• Follow company procedures for stock control, safety, and loss prevention.

Requirements:

• KCSE certificate; certificate/diploma in stores, logistics, supply chain, or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in receiving, stores, inventory, or supermarket operations is preferred.
• Good numeracy and record-keeping skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Honest, organized, and reliable.
