JOB DETAILS:
Regional Survey Leads (Short Term Experts)

The project objective is to accelerate the growth of the ICS sector with an irreversible market transformation that will significantly increase the level of ICS production and sales, particularly in more remote and rural locations, thereby enabling Kenya to significantly advance the achievement of the stated NDC goals. The project supports ICS market development focusing on supply side (professionalization, mechanization, quality assurance and business development support, access to finance and distribution channels), demand side (awareness creation and behavioral change communication/campaigns) and facilitating a supportive enabling environment.

Expected Outputs are:
1. Focusing on households, determine the level of awareness on usage and benefits of improved cook-stoves in Kenya. A national baseline scenario (targeting the entire country) and a baseline for regions of ICS market expansion.
2. Focusing on households, determine the current gender and socio-economic situation in the project implementation areas (both existing and ICS market extension areas)
3. Reporting to the Team Leader Survey (Manager) based in Nairobi

Tasks of the Experts will be:
1. Coordinating the selection process for the enumerators to participate in the survey, training the enumerators and overall coordination of all the survey related activities in their respective regions/clusters.

Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Political Sciences, Economics or Social Sciences
2. 3- years relevant experience in managing and supervising complex research projects in the field of social development, development economics, poverty analysis, and vulnerability studies
3. Experience in assignments in the cooking sector is an added advantage
4. Experience in designing and executing baseline surveys assignment (especially at regional and county level in Kenya)
5. Excellent academic writing, communication and presentation skills
6. Experience in using relevant approaches such as bulk messaging in undertaking surveys
7. In addition to their specialist qualifications, all team members should also have the following qualifications:
8. Ability to work in a team
9. Proactive
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
