Background
This is a job posting for a Registered Clinical Officer II position within the Machakos County Public Service Board (CPSB).
Key Responsibilities
The role involves a range of clinical duties and patient care activities.
- Taking history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory imaging investigations
- Interpreting laboratory and imaging results
- Treating patients’ common ailments at outpatient or inpatients health facility
- Providing community health care services in liaison with other health workers
- Guiding and counselling patients, clients and staff on health issues
- Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health
- Carrying out surgical procedures as per training and skill
- Collecting and compiling clinical data
- Preparing medico-legal briefs on clinical services
- Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities
Qualifications
The required qualifications include specific educational and professional credentials.
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalents qualification from a recognized institution
- Certificate of registration from Clinical Officers Council
- Valid professional practice license from the Clinical Officers Council
- Proficiency in computer application
- Taking history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory imaging investigations
