Key Responsibilities
- Be the Secretary to the Management Board of the University.
- Undertake administrative planning and development functions.
- Develop policies for records, archiving, asset acquisition and disposal, housing accommodation, transport, maintenance and operations.
- Coordinate formulation of the university’s strategic plan, performance contract, and appraisal system.
- Coordinate the provision of health care services.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, cleaning, landscaping and construction activities.
- Provide oversight over management and maintenance of the University’s fleet management.
- Coordinate departmental budgeting, procurement plans and meetings to support efficient service delivery.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by other superior officers.
Requirements
ACADEMIC
- A PhD Degree in Management, Human Resource/Public Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
ETHICS
- Proven to be a person of high integrity.
EXPERIENCE
- Worked for at least twelve (12) years in a university or a large institution in the Public Sector.
- Served in the grade of Deputy Registrar or in a comparable and relevant position for at least eight (8) years.
- Worked closely with the Deans and Directors and the Management Board on matters of staff development, training, academic and research programmes.
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
- Been able to supervise and oversee the provision of administrative services.
KNOWLEDGE
- Thorough knowledge of the University Act, and other regulations related to academic administrative and financial matters of the University.
- Been familiar with the formulation and provision of guidelines on planning, management of university services and academic programmes.
PROFESSIONAL
- Registered with recognized professional body (where applicable).
PUBLICATION
- Demonstrated evidence of administrative and academic leadership through scholarly publications.
