Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)

KSPCA is the only animal welfare charity in Kenya protecting animals from neglect and abuse. We rely on the help of volunteers, voluntary fundraising and donations to carry out our important work, so your support is invaluable to us!

Our team at KSPCA is looking for a dedicated and thoughtful Rehoming Officer to help our rescued animals find safe, loving, and suitable forever homes. In this role, you'll play a key part in the adoption journey-supporting potential adopters, assessing suitability, and ensuring that every match is made with the animal's long-term well-being in mind.

At KSPCA, we value integrity, professionalism, and respect for both people and animals. We're looking for someone who shares these values and is committed to supporting our mission to protect and care for animals across Kenya.

Responsibilities or duties

You'll engage with members of the public daily, guiding them through the adoption process, asking the right questions, and providing honest, practical advice. You'll work closely with our animal care and veterinary teams to understand each animal's needs, personality, and history, helping to create the best possible matches. You'll also follow up on adoptions where needed, ensuring animals continue to thrive in their new homes.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

We're looking for someone who is empathetic, confident, and able to balance compassion with sound judgment. You should be comfortable making decisions, including difficult ones, always putting the animal first. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple cases and interactions simultaneously.

Experience needed

Experience in animal welfare, customer service, or community engagement is an added advantage, but a genuine love for animals, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

If you're passionate about giving animals a second chance and helping create meaningful, lasting bonds between people and pets, we'd love to hear from you. Come be part of KSPCA Nairobi.
