Role Purpose:

The Relationship Officer – Asset Finance is responsible for driving the bank’s asset finance portfolio growth by identifying potential clients, promoting credit products, managing relationships, and ensuring timely loan repayments. This role combines sales, credit evaluation, risk management, and customer support functions to deliver quality lending outcomes while safeguarding portfolio quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Identify and acquire new asset finance clients through direct sales efforts, client referrals, and field visits.
• Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) verifications to ensure client authenticity.
• Promote asset finance and other credit products to prospective clients, clearly explaining features and benefits.
• Build, manage, and retain strong relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
• Assist clients in completing loan applications and gathering all required supporting documents.
• Conduct preliminary credit assessments and affordability checks.
• Liaise with underwriters to follow up on loan approvals and ensure timely disbursement.
• Monitor client accounts to ensure timely repayments and healthy portfolio performance.
• Engage borrowers facing repayment challenges to identify workable solutions.
• Collaborate with the collections team to recover overdue loans and minimize delinquencies.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, banking procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, applications, and sales reports.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance and portfolio reports.

• Strong knowledge of loan assessment, credit risk, and financial documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales or loan disbursement targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in credit sales, microfinance, asset finance, or retail banking.
