Background
The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi (AKUH, N) is a premier tertiary care hospital in East Africa. It is part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of agencies dedicated to improving the quality of life and social well-being of people of all backgrounds.
AKUH, N is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant for the Department of Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting research activities, including data collection, participant recruitment, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
The Research Assistant will be expected to:
- Assist in the design and implementation of research protocols.
- Recruit and screen study participants.
- Collect and manage research data accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain study records and ensure compliance with ethical guidelines.
- Prepare research reports and presentations.
- Perform other research-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Biological Sciences).
- Previous experience in research, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong data collection and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in research is preferred.
