Research Associate

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites applications from promising young researchers who are keen to pursue an intellectually challenging career in development research for the position of Research Associate under the Research Division. Ideal candidates should have a good knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, with a keen interest in areas like environmental economics, financial economics, economic development, energy economics, and macroeconomic policy. The candidate will be responsible for preparing background materials, collect and analyse data, write research reports, communicate findings through publications and presentations with various stakeholders, and also perform programme management-related activities as part of CPD’s research initiatives.

Requirements: Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Economics from a reputed university. Candidates with only a Bachelor’s degree in Economics are also encouraged to apply and will be considered for the Programme Associate (Research) position. A minimum CGPA of 3.60 is required, which may be relaxed in case of candidates with a degree from a reputed foreign academic establishment and/or with publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or relevant job experience. A high level of proficiency in English and Bangla is mandatory. The ability to use software (Excel, Stata, R, Python, EViews, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) for statistical and econometric analysis is essential. Desirable qualifications include a history of academic publications and research experience, whether gained professionally, through freelance work, or as part of university coursework.

Successful candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary starting from BDT 61,600 per month for the position of Research Associate along with other admissible benefits. The salary for the Programme Associate position will start from BDT 35,000 per month along with other admissible benefits.

The actual compensation package will be determined based on the assessment of the candidate’s qualifications, suitability, and relevant experience.
