Background information about the job or company 

St. Francis Community Hospital is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Resident Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist to provide specialist obstetric and gynecological services.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Provide specialist obstetric and gynecological outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Manage antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and gynecological patients.
  • Perform major and minor obstetric and gynecological surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures.
  • Manage obstetric and gynecological emergencies.
  • Supervise and mentor medical officers, interns, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous medical education.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with hospital policies.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynecology or an equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
  • Valid registration and current practicing license.
  • Fellowship or certified training in Laparoscopic (Minimally Invasive) Gynecological Surgery.
  • Valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Good communication skills (written and oral) and etiquette.
  • Customer focused and always willing to go the extra mile.

Experience needed

  • At least 3 years experience working in a hospital or a busy health facility.
  • Provide specialist obstetric and gynecological outpatient and inpatient services.
