About the Role

The Co-operative Bank of Kenya is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of SACCO CEO. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and operational success of the SACCO. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the cooperative movement, financial services, and a proven track record in leadership and management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the SACCO's strategic plan in line with its mission and objectives.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SACCO, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, financial reporting, and investment strategies.
• Lead and motivate the SACCO's staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and SACCO policies.
• Represent the SACCO in external forums and build strong relationships with stakeholders, including members, regulators, and partners.
• Drive business growth and enhance member value.
• Report to the Board of Directors on the SACCO's performance and strategic initiatives.

Attributes/Skills

• Strategic and visionary leadership with strong commercial acumen.
• Strong knowledge of Sacco business model and regulatory framework governing Deposit-Taking Saccos.
• Must possess a high degree of integrity, ethical judgement and commitment to transparency and accountability.
• Results driven, with excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal influencing and negotiation skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or its equivalent from a recognized university.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognized university is an added advantage.
• A member of a professional body in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in senior management position in a Deposit Taking Sacco.
• Age 30 years and above.

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional qualification in Accounting (CPA/ACCA) or Finance is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight.
• Strong understanding of the cooperative movement and SACCO operations.
