The role we are currently recruiting for is Sales Coordinator. As we start to build and expand our business in Kenya we are looking for highly organized and results-driven sales professionals. The Sales Coordinator is responsible for executing stove sales strategies in a designated region by directly managing a team of 10–15 sales agents. This is an on-the-ground role focused on supporting agents to meet daily and weekly sales targets, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering an excellent customer experience. The Sales Coordinator plays a key part in driving stove adoption, managing field operations, and ensuring quality across all sales activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with excellent leadership skills and hands-on direct sales management, excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for making a tangible impact in underserved communities.
We are building our Sales Hubs in Mombasa and require Sales Coordinators for each of these areas. Our Sales Agents will need to be familiar with the local area and able to travel to one of the Sales Hubs each morning.
At African Clean Energy, you will:
Key Responsibilities:
B2C Marketing & Prospecting Support
- Assist agents with planning and executing community-level marketing and product demos.
- Identify high-potential sales areas based on past performance, repayment data, and customer needs.
- Ensure agents are actively prospecting and building leads in their assigned territories.
Sales Conversion & Performance Management
- Assign daily sales and demo targets based on regional goals and agent capacity.
- Track agent performance through sales dashboards and provide real-time coaching.
- Support agents in improving closing rates and handling customer objections.
Sales Administration & Data Quality
- Ensure all customer registration, syncing, and documentation is completed correctly and on time.
- Monitor data accuracy in sales apps and escalate issues to the Sales Manager when needed.
- Coordinate with the Consumer Finance team to support timely follow-up on pending documentation or repayments.
Field Team Oversight & Support
- Conduct regular field visits and spot checks to ensure agents are in assigned areas and working productively.
- Run weekly check-ins or mini huddles with the team to review targets, share updates, and troubleshoot challenges.
- Ensure agents follow proper procedures for demos, customer registration, and sales follow-up.
Training, Motivation & Development
- Support the onboarding of new agents by providing hands-on training and shadowing sessions.
- Deliver daily refresher training on stove demos, syncing, and repayment follow-up.
- Keep agents motivated through recognition, encouragement, and practical support.
Reporting and Communication
- Submit weekly reports on agent performance, sales numbers, and repayment progress.
- Act as the main communication link between agents and regional management.
- Ensure all team updates, process changes, and compliance expectations are clearly communicated.
We’d really like to hear from you if you have:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 2–3 years’ experience in field sales, agent supervision, or community sales implementation.
- Prior experience managing small teams or working in B2C sales is a strong advantage.
- Strong digital literacy (e.g., using smartphones, sales apps, WhatsApp).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Local language fluency and familiarity with the region is preferred.
- Comfortable working in the field and traveling to either Mombasa, Kilifi or Kwale
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English & Kiswahili; knowledge of local dialects is a plus
