We are looking for a smart Sales Engineer interested in evangelizing software to join our team. We strongly prefer candidates with Engineering or Computer Science backgrounds. If you studied Computer Science or Electronic Engineering, and did well, don’t want to be a dev but want to remain technical, are organized, and possess the ability to persuade, we’d love to hear from you.
*We are an in-office company*. This is important for the stage we are in, the culture we are working to build, and the highly collaborative environment we require for success. (Thus, this role is not suited to remote applicants. In the future, if/when we have such roles, we will publish them.)
About the role
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for helping us get our new software products to the market. You will understand our business and products deeply, understand our customers’ businesses and products deeply, and connect the two for success on both ends. You are very technically adept, are flexible (this is a new role in our company), are hungry, friendly, organized and work easily will all kinds of people.
Roles and responsibilities
You will:
- Evangelize our new software product(s) to customers, and you will let us know what we can do to make them even more satisfied
- Collaborate with the product leader and sales team to identify customer needs and develop suitable product or service solutions
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept sessions to prospects and clients
- Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and technical documentation
- Work closely with the engineering team and product leader to ensure customer requirements are met
- Support the product team with technical insights, competitive analysis, and feedback from clients.
- Be up to speed with our technology as well as what is happening regionally and globally to help us be the best
- Support the engineering team as needed to get our customers up and running, and to get problems solved
Desired skills and experience
- You must have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar program (no exceptions)
- We welcome both recent and experienced graduates to this role
- You must have a track record of verifiable high performance; if you are a consistent and hungry top performer in your class or team, and are humble, you will love Senga
- You are quick to learn various technologies and systems and can communicate to lay users and technologists with ease
- You are very organized (yes, we keep repeating this as it’s crucial to this role)
- You are demonstrable proactive
- You are a great collaborator and recognize that startups are team oriented, and that each team member contributes tangibly to the future of the company
- You can speak your mind and listen to others too
- You will have a commission in this role; if this motivates rather than scares you, please proceed to apply
This role reports to the Sales Manager and CEO.
