ROLE OVERVIEW

The Sales Executive/Cashier is the first point of contact for walk-in customers at the solar distribution shop. This role combines front-line sales, customer service excellence, and accu- rate cash and POS handling. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, and passionate about clean energy solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Warmly receive and attend to walk-in customers, understanding their energy needs and guiding them to the right products.
  • Actively sell solar panels, inverters, batteries, electrical accessories, generators, and HVAC products stocked at the branch.
  • Process all cash, MPESA, card, and bank transactions accurately using the POS system.
  • Issue receipts, invoices, and delivery notes; maintain proper transaction records.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries, quotations, and pending orders.
  • Maintain the shop floor: ensure products are clean, properly labelled, and attractively displayed.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate unresolved issues to the Branch Manager.
  • Achieve monthly individual sales targets as set by the Branch Manager.
  • Support stock-taking exercises and periodic inventory counts.
  • Build and maintain a personal customer database for repeat business and referrals.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Certificate in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Customer Ser- vice, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales or customer-facing role, preferably in retail, electrical, or solar products.
  • Basic knowledge of solar products and clean energy solutions is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Competency in cash handling, POS systems, and basic bookkeeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Swahili.
  • Smart, presentable, and professional appearance.
  • Honesty and high personal integrity - non-negotiable.
