Responsibilities or duties

Sales & Business Development

Identify potential customers (schools, offices, retailers)

Promote stationery products such as pens, ink, and office supplies

Meet or exceed sales targets

Prepare and deliver sales presentations

Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients

Respond to customer inquiries and provide product information

Handle complaints and ensure customer satisfaction

Order Management

Process customer orders accurately

Follow up on deliveries and ensure timely supply

Coordinate with the warehouse or suppliers

Market Research

Monitor market trends and competitor activities

Identify new sales opportunities and customer needs

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain records of sales, clients, and transactions

Prepare daily/weekly sales reports

Track inventory levels and inform management when stock is low

Product Knowledge

Stay updated on all stationery products and pricing

Explain product features and benefits clearly to customers

Field Work & Visits

Visit clients regularly (schools, offices, shops)

Conduct product demonstrations where necessary

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Key Skills Required

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Customer service orientation

Basic computer skills (for invoicing/reporting)

Time management and organization

Sales and persuasion skills

Qualifications and Requirements

Degree or diploma preferably in Sales or Business-related field.

Must have worked as Sales personnel preferably in a Stationery supply, distribution and wholesale firm or demonstrable selling FMCG to corporates and schools.

Ability to handle being rejected by customers and remain calm and collected.

Trustworthy, professional and reliable when dealing with confidential information.

Strong integrity

Experience needed

At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role with demonstrable performance.
