Background

PlantVillage+ is a worker cooperative on a mission to eradicate poverty and reverse climate change through farmer-centered, science-driven solutions.

We are seeking a motivated Sales Intern to drive the growth and distribution of sustainable agricultural products that are transforming rural livelihoods.

This is a field-based role focused on farmer engagement, market development, and product uptake at the grassroots level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product marketing and sales outreach activities, including farmer sensitization and field promotions
  • Engage farmers, agro-dealers, and agribusiness stakeholders to promote adoption of PlantVillage+ solutions
  • Assist in organizing field demonstrations, farmer training sessions, and community engagement events
  • Support lead generation, follow-ups, and conversion of farmer interest into sales and product adoption
  • Support order tracking, coordination, and basic distribution follow-up with field teams and partners
  • Maintain and update simple CRM tools for tracking leads, visits, and sales activities
  • Collect market intelligence, including farmer feedback and product insights
  • Contribute to daily/weekly sales reports and track performance against set targets

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong interest in agricultural sales, farmer engagement, and rural market systems
  • Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet targets, and perform in a field-based environment
