Background

Cornerstone Preparatory Academy is a Christ-centered educational institution committed to providing holistic, transformational education to Kenyan children. The Academy exists to provide all that is necessary for every child that we serve at every age so that they may grow to be WORLD changers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
  • Organize, catalog, and maintain library resources (books, digital materials, reference materials).
  • Promote a strong reading culture through library programs, reading clubs, and literacy activities.
  • Support students in research, study skills, and information literacy.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum delivery and learning resources.
  • Maintain accurate library records, inventories, and borrowing systems.
  • Ensure a safe, quiet, and welcoming learning environment within the library.
  • Guide learners on responsible use of information and library resources.
  • Participate in child safeguarding and protection initiatives.
  • Prepare periodic reports on library usage, resources, and needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Library & Information Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a school library or similar learning environment.
  • Proficiency in Library Management System (LMS).
  • Knowledge of library cataloguing systems and basic ICT skills.
  • Understanding of the Kenyan education curriculum is an added advantage.

  • Passion for reading, learning, and student development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with children and maintain discipline in a learning space.
