Job Summary

The School Watchman will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, school buildings, property, and facilities. The role involves monitoring the school premises, controlling access, conducting regular patrols, and promptly reporting any security concerns or incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the school premises.
• Conduct regular patrols of school buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas.
• Monitor visitors and maintain appropriate visitor records.
• Safeguard school property, equipment, and facilities against theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
• Ensure gates, doors, and other access points are properly secured.
• Report suspicious activities, security breaches, accidents, and emergencies to school management.
• Maintain security and incident logs.
• Support the maintenance of order during school activities and events.
• Respond appropriately to security incidents and emergencies.
• Cooperate with school administration and relevant security authorities when required.
• Perform any other security-related duties assigned by the school administration.

Requirements

• Previous security or watchman experience is an advantage.
• Good physical fitness, alertness, and observation skills.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of honesty, discipline, reliability, and integrity.
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies.
• Previous experience working in a school, institution, or similar environment is an advantage.
